چکیده
Developing Software Engineers at the C-130J Software Factory by Richard Conn, pp. 25–29. The education and training needs of avionics software engineers are diverse. Several shortfalls in conventional computer science and engineering education can result in mismatched expectations between new hires and their companies. Students must be prepared to work on teams, communicate, and understand the importance of a disciplined, measured, and mature engineering process.

Seven More Myths of Formal Methods: Dispelling Industrial Prejudices
For whatever reason, formal methods remain one of the more contentious techniques in industrial software engineering. Despite some improvement in the uptake of formal methods, it is still the case that the vast majority of potential users of formal methods fail to become actual users. A paper by Hall in 1990 [31] examined a number of `myths' concerning formal methods, assumed by some to be vali...
متن کاملBelief in Family Planning Myths at the Individual and Community Levels and Modern Contraceptive Use in Urban Africa.
CONTEXT Negative myths and misconceptions about family planning are a barrier to modern contraceptive use. Most research on the subject has focused on individual beliefs about contraception; however, given that myths spread easily within communities, it is also important to examine how the prevalence of negative myths in a community affects the aggregate level of method use. METHODS Baseline ...
متن کاملSoftware Reuse - Facts and Myths
The concept of systematic software reuse is simple: the idea of building and using "software preferred parts." By building systems out of carefully designed, pre-tested components, one will save the cost of designing, writing and testing new code. The practice of reuse has not proven to be this simple however, and there are many misconceptions about how to implement and gain benefit from softwa...
